We love to meet our fans, and to add any help that we can we would like to supply directions from a few locations. If your starting destination is not listed, feel free to click on the number by either brewery (Number 1 is our Hilltop brewery and Number 2 is our Riverside brewery). Directions to New Glarus Brewing Hilltop Brewery From Madison:
From the "Beltline" Hwy 12 & 18.
Head west on Hwy 12 & 18.
Take the Dodgeville/ Verona Road exit. Exit #258 Hwy 18/151.
You will exit to the right. Then turn to the left at the light at the bottom of this exit ramp. You will be turning under the highway you just exited.
Follow 18/151 West for 5 to 7 miles. You will go through several lights and continue out into the country side.
As you approach Verona, watch for signs for PB (like peanut butter).
Take exit 79 Hwy PB to the South.
You will again exit off a ramp to the right and then turn left at the light at the bottom of the ramp. You will then go under the highway you just exited.
Follow PB South approximately 5 miles, until you come to a small town called Paoli. At the 4-way stop sign turn right. Paoli is a very small town and PB goes about 2 blocks and the route curves to your left. Follow the curve to the left. One more block and you will come to a 4-way flashing red stop sign.
Continue straight through the flashing stop light, continuing south on PB. (You will have crossed Hwy 69 at the flashing red light.)
You are now traveling through farm country for another 6 miles or so. You will eventually come to a stop sign where PB "Ts" into Hwy 69. At that stop sign turn right. You will now be on 69 South.
You will be climbing up a hill and driving along the ridge top. Then you will drop down into the valley, you'll be only a few miles from the brewery. As you come into New Glarus you will come into a 45 mile speed limit, which will then drop to 35 mph. Go straight through the stoplight. You will drive through New Glarus, and the speed limit will again increase to 55 mph and you will see a large hill up ahead. At the bottom of the hill, on the left (as the lanes increase from one to two lane), there is a sign for New Glarus Brewing Company next to a limestone road and our Wastewater Treatment Facility Center (red barn). That is our driveway. Follow the road (slowly), always staying to the right. The brewery will be at the top of the steep incline on the right.
Directions to New Glarus Brewing Company Hilltop Brewery from Milwaukee:
Head West on Interstate 94 to Madison. Take the Exit for 90 South or it may be marked Janesville.
Take Exit 142A (12 & 18 West). Stay on 12 & 18 for about 10 miles. Take Exit 258 (Hwy 18/151-Dodgeville exit). Turn Left and follow 18/151 West for 5 to 7 miles and take Exit 92 (Hwy PB-South). Follow PB until you come to a small town called Paoli. At 4-way stop sign turn right into Paoli. Paoli is a very small town and PB goes about 2 blocks and curves to your left. Follow the road to the left. At the 4-way stop, continue straight on PB for another 5 to 7 miles. You will come to a stop sign, at the stop sign turn right. You will now be on 69 South.
When you turn on 69, you will be climbing a nice hill. Ride along the ridge top for a couple of miles and then drop down into the valley. After you drop down into the valley you will go about 2 miles or so. As you come into New Glarus you will enter a 45 mile speed limit, which will then drop to 35, and then go back up to 55 mph. Continue through the town of New Glarus until you reach its outer limits. Shortly after passing the restaurant, Culver's, there will be a driveway to your left at the base of the hill where the lanes increase from one to two. Our driveway is next to our Water Treatment Facility Center (red barn) on the left with a sign for our little brewery.
Directions to New Glarus Brewing Company Hilltop Brewery from Chicago:
Head North on Interstate 90 toward Rockford.
When you approach Rockford; 90 connects with 51 and continues North towards Janesville. At Beloit take exit 185 for Highway 81 West through Beloit. Continue 0n 81. Eventually Hwy 81 intersects with Highway 81/11. That intersection is a "T" in the road with a stop sign. Turn left heading West toward Monroe. Watch for the Highway 69 North exit for New Glarus. You will follow 69 North for 16 miles. As you approach New Glarus you will climb a gradual hill and pass the New Glarus Woods State Park and the brewery's commercial entrance at the top of the hill. Continuing down the hill, Hwy 69 widens with a turn lane for you on the right. You will notice a large bill board and a red barn at our main entrance. Turn into the drive and remember to drive slowly and stay on the right hand side of this two lane road. Follow the drive around the hill and to the top parking lot for our giftshop, tours, and beer depot.
